Warehouse automation for Modexpress
Scalable warehouse automation for fashion fulfilment
Modexpress is a logistics service provider specialising in fashion fulfilment. From its distribution centre in Helmond, the Netherlands, the company manages inventory, order fulfilment and distribution for leading clothing brands.
To support future growth, Modexpress opened an additional automated fulfilment facility. The company had already invested in a pocket sorter system, but still needed an intelligent conveyor system to automate the material flow after picking. Valor delivered the complete automated material handling system.
Connecting pocket sorting, packing and outbound shipping
The pocket sorter presents products directly to operators, allowing orders to be processed efficiently. After this step, cartons need to move through packing, value-added services, packaging machines, weighing, labelling and outbound sorting.
Valor engineered the conveyor flow that connects these process steps into one integrated warehouse automation solution. The system uses data from the warehouse management system to determine the correct route. This ensures that each order automatically moves to the right destination, whether it requires additional processing or can continue directly towards shipping.
Integration with third-party warehouse equipment
The conveyor system had to integrate reliably with third-party warehouse equipment already included in the project. Valor connected the conveyor flow with the surrounding processes, ensuring a controlled and consistent material flow throughout the fulfilment operation. This required clear technical coordination between the different systems, without adding unnecessary complexity. The project demonstrates how Valor brings multiple warehouse technologies together into one coordinated automated conveyor system.
A complete material handling solution
The Modexpress project combines many of Valor’s core capabilities in one installation. It includes conveyor transport, scanning, sorting, work distribution, WMS integration, machine communication, error handling and outbound routing.
The installation supports the full order fulfilment process after the pocket sorter and gives Modexpress a modular platform for future growth. As volumes increase, the modular Qliqflow system can be expanded to match new operational requirements while maintaining the best possible ROI.
Smooth cooperation with Modexpress
The collaboration with Modexpress was highly efficient. Their logistics knowledge and experienced software team made communication clear, practical and fast.
This shared technical understanding helped the project progress smoothly, despite the number of systems and suppliers involved. The result is a well-integrated warehouse automation solution that supports both operational performance and future expansion.
Result: reliable fulfilment flow for future growth
Valor delivered an intelligent conveyor system that connects the pocket sorter to packing, value-added services and outbound shipping. The result is a scalable automated material handling system for fashion logistics, designed to increase efficiency, reduce manual handling and support growing fulfilment volumes. For Modexpress, the new facility provides a strong foundation for cost-effective expansion and reliable order processing for leading fashion brands.
At Modexpress, we partnered with Valor to take our warehouse automation in Helmond to the next level. From the first concept to the final conveyor, Valor proved to be a solid partner — sharp in design, hands-on in execution, and quick when it mattered most. Together, we built a smart, fully automated flow — from pocketsorter output all the way to end-of-line shipping. Our focus was clear: future-proof flexibility and a solid ROI. Valor delivered on both. With their technical expertise, no-nonsense approach, and ongoing support, Valor fits perfectly with how we work: drive ambition together. The foundation is there. Now it’s time to unlock the full potential.
